Description
Join a premier Thoroughbred farm in the heart of Central Kentucky as an Equine Resident Veterinarian. This role offers the chance to practice high-quality medicine with a diverse equine population, strong support staff, excellent resources, and a collaborative team environment.
You will help care for a large group of horses, including broodmares, foals, yearlings, stallions, horses in training, and horses in rehabilitation. The caseload is varied and rewarding, with opportunities in internal medicine, foal care, reproduction, wellness, herd health, and emergency care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent veterinary care across a large, diverse Thoroughbred population.
- Perform diagnostics, create treatment plans, and follow cases through to resolution.
- Develop and manage herd health programs across multiple groups of horses.
- Take radiographs and interpret findings for thoroughbred yearling sales.
- Work closely with farm management, veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.
- Communicate clearly and proactively about findings, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Share on-call coverage as part of a supportive veterinary team.

Requirements
- DVM or equivalent degree with 5–10 years of relevant equine experience preferred.
- Strong diagnostic skills and confidence developing treatment plans and managing cases.
- Clear communicator who works well with all staff members and the leadership team.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume farm environment.
