Description

Reata Equine Hospital is a five doctor, two intern equine referral practice in Weatherford, Texas.  Our caseload is approximately 50% in hospital, 50% ambulatory.  Our externs are each assigned a clinician's service on a daily rotating basis and are included in all cases with heavy emphasis on hands-on experience and discussion.  Only two externs are allowed at a time to allow more interactive opportunity.  On-site housing is provided.  Externships are available year round and are open to veterinary students years 1-4.  An externship is strongly recommended prior to application for the Reata Equine Hospital internship.

Requirements

The Reata Equine Hospital externship requires active enrollment in a veterinary curriculum.  Enthusiasm for the learning opportunities offered and a willing work ethic and good attitude are essential for maximum benefit of the externship.
