Matamata Veterinary Services Equine is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Equine Reproduction Veterinarian to join our team in the heart of New Zealand’s thoroughbred breeding industry for the 2026 breeding season.
MVS Equine is one of New Zealand's largest equine practices, with a purpose-built equine referral hospital and full ambulatory service. Working alongside a team of 24 equine veterinarians, including experienced clinicians with a strong focus on reproduction and stud medicine, you will play a key role in providing veterinary services to some of New Zealand's premier Thoroughbred breeding operations.
The Role
This is a busy, rewarding seasonal position largely focused on the reproductive management of thoroughbred mares and stallions. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of stud medicine and general ambulatory work.
Applicants should have:
A veterinary degree registrable in New Zealand.
A minimum of three years' experience in equine practice.
Demonstrated proficiency in equine reproduction and stud medicine.
A collaborative approach and enthusiasm for working within a large veterinary team.
