Description
Company DescriptionAlice, Texas
Wilkinson Veterinary Clinic is seeking a compassionate, driven Associate Veterinarian to join our growing team in Alice, Texas — the "Hub City" of South Texas. Whether you're a recent DVM graduate or an experienced veterinarian looking for a fresh start, this is an opportunity to build a fulfilling career in a community that truly values its veterinary team.
Why Alice, Texas?
We know relocating for a job is a big decision, so here's why so many people fall in love with life in Alice:
Small-town warmth, big-town amenities. Known as the "Hub City" for its central location in South Texas, Alice offers the hominess of a small community with easy access to bigger-city conveniences — Corpus Christi and its beaches are less than an hour away.
Outdoor life right outside your door. Lake Findley is a local favorite for fishing, birding, and kayaking — with catfish, crappie, and bass populations that keep local anglers coming back. Birders will love it too: over 250 bird species have been spotted here, making it a fantastic spot to grab your binoculars and unwind after a long clinic day.
Food you'll actually crave. Alice is a Tex-Mex lover's paradise, with local favorites serving up authentic barbacoa tacos, homemade tortillas, and enchiladas that'll make you glad you moved.
A community that knows how to celebrate. From the lively Cinco de Mayo festival downtown to the annual Jim Wells County Fair, Alice's calendar is full of vibrant, welcoming events with live music, food, and genuine community spirit.
Rich history around every corner. History buffs can explore the South Texas Museum, home to fascinating artifacts from the region's ranching and political past — including ties to a famous (and infamous) 1948 U.S. Senate election.
Something for every weekend. Bowl a few frames and grab a snack at Pin City Lanes, hit the links at Alice's 18-hole golf course, or head 30 minutes out to the Chaparral Wildlife Management Area for hiking and wildlife watching.
Mild winters, affordable living. With winters rarely dipping below 40°F and a cost of living well below many major Texas cities, your paycheck goes further here — and you'll trade brutal winters for a laid-back South Texas climate.
