Join a collaborative, family-oriented equine team in the heart of West Michigan!
West Michigan Veterinary Service is seeking a dedicated Equine Veterinarian to join our established team of three experienced equine doctors. Our growing practice serves a diverse caseload of both English (hunter/jumper) and Western performance horses, providing comprehensive ambulatory and in-hospital care.
About the Position
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) with a shared rotating on-call schedule.
Caseload: A balanced mix of performance, herd wellness, and sports medicine cases.
Work Environment: Time is split between ambulatory field work and hospital-based care.
Procedures: We perform standard elective surgeries in-house (including gelds and select orthopedic/sports medicine procedures).
Mentorship & Growth
If you are an early career doctor, you’ll be supported by knowledgeable equine doctors who are available to provide mentorship and collaboration. We offer a Junior Associate program—ideal for newer veterinarians to build confidence and skills before transitioning into a full Associate role.
Our Culture
At West Michigan Veterinary Service, we pride ourselves on maintaining a laid-back, family atmosphere where teamwork comes first. Our doctors share cases and collaborate closely, we believe that open communication and mutual support is essential to providing excellent care.
Location
Our clinic is located in Coopersville, MI—a friendly, growing town perfectly situated between Grand Rapids (vibrant city life and a younger crowd) and Grand Haven (beautiful Lake Michigan beaches and a relaxed coastal vibe). Enjoy the best of both worlds: a rural practice setting with easy access to urban and outdoor amenities.

Supportive, team-oriented environment

Varied caseload with both performance and pleasure horses
Opportunity to balance fieldwork and hospital care
