The Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center is hiring a second board-certified or board-eligible equine internal medicine specialist to join our hospital team. Our collaborative team of veterinarians currently consists of one established board-certified internal medicine clinician, three board-certified surgeons, five field service associates and 7 interns. The interns rotate in 2-week stints through the various services over the course of the year.
The Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center is a state of the art full-service 24-hour emergency referral hospital located in scenic Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The hospital is equipped with 46 stalls, including a four-stall climate-controlled USDA certified isolation facility and a four stall Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which is outfitted with radiant heat, oxygen ports, constant rate fluid infusion pumps, and fully stocked mobile NICU pharmacy carts. Our advanced diagnostic imaging arsenal includes a Qalibra CT, MRI, and nuclear scintigraphy, which are all complemented with digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopic and gastroscopic units. We also have an on-site laboratory with the ability to perform routine bloodwork and in-house PCR testing.
We are seeking a driven, communicative individual with a team-oriented approach to provide elective internal medicine services as well as emergency care to a?large population of performance, breeding stock and pleasure horses in hospital. The internal medicine service sees in excess of 500 cases annually.
Since opening its doors in 1986, the Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center has developed an enviable reputation as one of the premier equine veterinary hospitals in the country. Our reputation has given us the opportunity over the years to work on horses of various breeds and disciplines, from Kentucky Derby, Hambletonian winners and Olympic athletes to our local Hunterdon County equine friends.
Over the years, our staff has grown to over 40 dedicated individuals, including board certified specialists in the fields of surgery, internal medicine, sports medicine & rehabilitation, and cardiology. In addition to the hospital clinicians, we also have a field service department, whose veterinarians work closely with the specialists as a team, providing quality care at home. Our technical staff has also grown to 20 qualified individuals.
The team that has been put in place allows the hospital to provide exceptional care to the patient, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A doctor is always present at the hospital to oversee the care of patients. Perhaps more than any of our credentials is our doctor’s commitment to resolve equine health issues and patiently and effectively communicate with horse owners and professionals.
