Job Opening: Large Animal Veterinarian – Mobile Practice with Partnership Opportunity (Hampton Roads and Eastern Shore, VA)
Are you a passionate, self-driven large animal veterinarian ready to build something of your own? We’re seeking a motivated Large Animal DVM to join us as a founding full time or part time associate in launching a new mobile veterinary practice serving the vibrant Hampton Roads and Eastern Shore region of Virginia.
This is more than just a job—it’s an entrepreneurial opportunity to shape the future of large animal care in a community that values strong client relationships and quality medicine. We’re building a practice rooted in clinical excellence, flexibility, and collaborative partnership, and we’re looking for a like-minded veterinarian ready to grow with us. Salary design commiserates with experience and package desired.
Key Highlights:
Mobile Practice Model: Equipped with a state-of-the-art mobile unit for on-site large animal care.
Diverse Caseload: Focus on equine and farm animals (some small ruminant work based on candidate preference).
Clinical Independence: Use your skills and judgment in diagnostics, preventative care, and emergency management. Ability to consult on care with team members who have been in the Large Animal business for years.
Referral Support: After-hours cases can be referred to nearby 24/7 emergency and specialty hospitals as desired.
Path to Partnership: Equity and co-ownership potential for the right candidate—be a co-creator, not just an employee.
Flexible Scheduling: Create a lifestyle and workflow that support both your personal and professional goals.
What We’re Looking For:
A self-motivated veterinarian with strong clinical acumen and a desire to grow professionally.
A natural communicator who builds trust with clients and the local animal community.
Someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, eager to contribute ideas and help shape a new business.
Experience with large animals (equine, bovine, small ruminants); new grads with strong externships and drive are welcome to apply.
Why Hampton Roads?
The area offers a mix of rural farmland and urban accessibility, rich history, and access to beaches, forests, and horse country. It’s friendly and a perfect place to build a career and a life.
If you’re ready to be more than just an associate—and truly invest in your future—let’s talk.
To apply, please send your resume and a brief cover letter explaining your interest in mobile practice and long-term goals to carolinavet@me.com.
