Almost every one of our associates tells us how their classmates are in positions where they're not being challenged to grow, wish they had more surgical opportunities, had a team that worked together collaboratively, that the medicine is old/stale and ultimately, unfortunately, that their first jobs just aren't what they'd hoped for.

So what makes us different? I'll fall back on the thoughts of our current associates ranging from 2018-2024 grads.  

#1 We believe in open communication and seek input and development of our medicine practices, our processes, our hospital decision making and our vision for the future. 

#2 Great Medicine - it comes from a collaborative approach.  Working together to provide the most up to date practices and education for our clients and their companions.  We do this through challenging the status quo on the services a traditional GP clinic offers (advanced soft tissue surgeries, multi-modal pain management, cutting edge tools, advanced in clinic abdominal and cardiac ultrasounds, etc) while staying on top of pharmaceutical offerings and medical techniques.  We believe in client education as being one of the greatest tools we have at our disposal. Combining this all with an awareness of spectrum of care medicine that meets the needs of our patients and their owners is paramount.  

#3 Great Workplace - a team that tells dad jokes, celebrates teammate milestones, offers paid parental leave and is accommodating of life's ups and downs that happen outside of our 4 walls.

All 8 of our doctors joined us as new graduates due to this focus, and they each seek to uphold this same outlook with us today. Our team finds fulfillment in sparking this same excitement in the many dvm, technician and undergrad student externs we host annually, as well as our local high school CVA program participants.  These are our future colleagues and we love spreading the love for vet medicine to these eager individuals.  

CASELOAD: We are true generalists. We see cases ranging from routine wellness, advanced surgery and dentistry,  hospitalization and management of critical and IM cases, extended urgent care hours, to daytime emergency.   We see 30minute staggered appointments with a technician led team.  We believe in giving back by partnering with local rescue organizations and the SPCA to help the less fortunate pets of our community.  

Some of our doctors prefer to focus strictly on small animal practice,  others prefer the variety that mobile mixed animal offerings bring.  Each of these practitioner types fits well in our clinic environment.  

SCHEDULE: Our doctors are scheduled an alternating 4-4.5 day work week (avg 34-38hrs) with two hours blocked off mid-day to allow for catchup, record completion and lunch.  Saturdays are alternating half days and regular three day weekends are built into the schedule as well!  There is no on-call, and extended urgent care hours  is shared equally amongst the team.  

COMMUNITY: With miles of sandy beach line and cajun food aplenty, we delight in being a safe, mid-sized town with all the local week to week conveniences you could need. Hit the water with an abundance of outdoor activities, or take a short trip up to H-town (Houston) to catch a concert and a night out.  

DVM graduate from an AVMA accredited program, eligible immediately for full licensure in the state of Texas, DEA license eligible, USDA II accreditation eligible.
