The Department of Clinical Sciences at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking locum support for Equine Field Services beginning in March and extending through June 2025. Candidates that are available to cover 2-week periods are preferred; however, consideration will be given to those that can only cover 1 week at a time. Duties include supporting the Equine Field Service through primary case management of lameness evaluations, respiratory evaluations, preventative health care, and field emergencies, in addition to clinical instruction of senior veterinary students and training of a specialty intern. Equine practice or equine referral center experience is required and the locum must be a US citizen or permanent resident. A competitive stipend will be offered. In addition, Auburn is the home of the world’s first field-installed clinically approved Terra.X.7T magnetic resonance imaging scanner, providing advanced imaging for multiple species.
