Equine Medical Services is seeking a full time veterinarian to join the general practice team of our well-established practice in the Columbia, Missouri. New graduates, as well as recent interns are encouraged to apply as well as seasoned practitioners. Mentorship is available from each of the team veterinarians if desired. Base salary of 120K, with production compensation on top of base pay. This is a general practitioner position encompassing preventative/routine care, lameness/sports medicine, pre purchase exams, dentistry and emergency care. Emergency coverage is shared by multiple veterinarians on the EMS team and the practice is not heavily burdened by emergency calls. Equine Medical Services is privately owned, enjoys a good reputation, excellent clientele, and a diverse patient base, servicing professional training barns, hobbyist and breeding operations. The caseload is made up of both ambulatory and haul in procedures. We have a full complement of digital radiography, ultrasound, shockwave, and power dental equipment, in house CBC and Chemistry, supportive colleagues, and a nearby surgical referral facility. Our campus includes 116 stalls (majority are used for the reproductive portion of the practice with a 6 stall hospital barn for day patients or the occasional sick horse), multiple exam areas, paddocks and exercise pens.
Start date for the position can be flexible, with the option to start immediately or after candidate has fulfilled their current employment or school obligations.
Our compensation package includes a base salary with industry leading commission percentage and Emergency Fee Bonus, CE allowance, paid vacation, PLIT insurance, license fees and association dues paid. A fully equipped vehicle is provided for professional use.
