This surgery-focus internship is a 1-year (12 months), full time position rotating through the surgical service, including standing surgery, surgical procedures under general anesthesia and surgical outpatients. If desired, there is additional training in other hospital sections, such as reproduction, internal medicine and ambulatory that are available for a limited period of the program. The surgery service has a diverse caseload, including arthroscopies, laparoscopies, sinoscopies, foal surgeries, dental procedures and a large variety of standing procedures. On average, two to three surgical procedures are performed daily in addition to outpatients and emergencies.
