Animal Medical Center of Wyoming in Gillette, WY is looking for an after-hours Small Animal On-Call veterinarian to work 10-12 shifts per month for a base salary starting at $130,000, with a higher base and/or production based bonus packages available depending on experience and shift commitment per month. Veterianarians also interested in seeing equine patients are always welcome to apply, but the primary need is for after-hours coverage for the local small animal population.
Animal Medical Center of Wyoming is a full service, mixed animal hospital that cares primarily for dogs and cats, horses, and cows, although we occasionally treat some pocket pets and other large animals (goats, pigs, llamas, donkeys). Our hospital was founded in 1991 by Dr. Darren Lynde and Dr. Marshall Kohr, both Colorado State University grads, with the goal to make a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them. We have worked hard to build a collaborative team, which helps us provide the best care to every patient. As a staple in the community for 30 years, we are very passionate about giving back: we proudly support events like 4-H, rodeos, various youth activities, and our local animal shelter.
Our hospital is fully equipped to treat small and large animals. In our small animal hospital we have six exam rooms, a surgery suite, Sound-Elkin digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and GE Logic digital ultrasound with Doppler. Any images needing further interpretation can be sent out to PetRays. Dentistry is a large portion of our caseload and we practice the gold standard of care. We take full mouth radiographs on every patient and we also send our new veterinarians and technicians to a continuing education course with a board certified dentist for advanced training in dentistry. In our large animal hospital we have an equine exam area with the same ultrasound and radiography as in our small animal hospital, endoscopy, a surgical area for procedures that don’t require intubation, cattle chute, seven stalls in our heated barn, two clinic trucks available for house calls, and an Arthrex ACS and PRP system, which can be used for dogs, too. We went paperless in 2008 and use Cornerstone for our electronic medical records. AMC also has boarding, grooming, cremation services, and a pet food outlet in our building.
Generous signing and retention bonuses are available for qualified candidates, and travel stipends of up to $25,000/yr are available for non-local candidates interested in exploring the area before making a permanent commitment to relocation. A comprehensive benefits package is included for all successful candidates.
