Salary Details:

Very competitive initial salary, after a new veterinarian develops into their practice, we pay the initial salary as a base plus quarterly bonuses calculated relative to professional service billing, in almost all cases that occurs within 12 months of hiring. After 18 months of employment we offer a 3% matching retirement plan. We provide 100% of health, liability and disability insurances as well as a life insurance policy. We provide a fully equipped truck, at least 1 week of continuing ed with travel expenses and membership in AVMA, CVMA, AAEP and any other appropriate professional organizations.

We are looking for a new associate veterinarian to join our busy practice.  Our practice is comprised of about 70% horses and 30% other large animal species but this position will be be 95% or more equine unless the applicant desires otherwise.  The practice co-owner and senior equine veterinarian has recently retired and his personal practice was quite busy so this is not a position that we will need to grow into.  All five of us have busy and satisfying personal practices under the Sonoma Marin Vet Service umbrella and we expect that our newest veterinarian will see their personal practice develop quickly.  This should be reflected in job satisfaction as well as increasing income beyond the already very competitive initial salary.  This position will include high level sports medicine, dentistry, general equine medicine and the option and support to grow in new directions.  Emergency duties will be shared equally and should include 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend per month.
