About UsDr. Lohnes is a 1982 U of IL graduate originally from Pekin, IL. I moved to Barry aftergraduation and have been practicing in the same location for 40 years. Father of 3. Grandfather of 9. Priorities are my faith journey, including my mission work in Honduras and my family. I’ve mentored many students on my mission trips to Honduras and I enjoy that immensely. Our practice is growing rapidly at a time that I’m wanting to slow down a little. We built a new office in Payson last year (moved in January 1, 2022) and have plenty of room for expansion. This presents an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to practice both large and smallanimal medicine, is willing to work hard, and for whom practice ownership is a priority.
Dr. Meyer is a 2014 U of IL graduate originally from the south suburbs of Chicago. “Notgrowing up on a farm didn’t deter me from pursuing a large animal career. The community really embraced me from the get-go and I’m really grateful for that. I was lucky to have a few job offers during the Great Recession and I chose to work with Dr. Lohnes because of the mentoring and the ability to buy in. I’d hate to grow a practice for 5-8 years and then buy the growth that I brought in. I also got a lot of mentoring that gave me confidence and ability to develop my skills quickly. I knew I’d get support if I messed up. Being family friendly was also a priority and we are a very family friendly community and practice. Because of the low cost of living, I was able to pay off my student loans and business buy-in within 6.5 years. We may be a little practice but we have big opportunities for growth in many areas.”
