Park Equine Hospital (PEH) is seeking two (2) first-year veterinarians for our 54-week Internship Program, ideally starting on or around June 10, 2024 (start date and term are flexible). Our program allows new doctors to gain practical skills and expand their knowledge in surgery, anesthesiology, general medicine, ambulatory field care, reproduction, lameness evaluation, diagnostic imaging, and emergency care. Our goal is to provide a positive learning environment where Interns can become well-rounded practitioners while being mentored by our experienced veterinarians.

PEH strives to maintain a family-like atmosphere, allowing Interns to grow and develop their individual skills and interests. This program is perfect for new doctors seeking to join a diverse and thriving mid-size practice that values and promotes teamwork and a desired work-life balance.

Prerequisites for our internship program include:

• A passing score on the NAVLE
• Completion of DVM or VMD degree at an AVMA accredited University
• Official transcripts from DVM or VMD degree awarding school
• All required examinations must be completed before the start date
• Licensed to practice in the State of Kentucky (or expected to receive your license within two (2) weeks of start date)
• USDA accreditation (or expected to receive within two (2) weeks of start date)
• A complete application packet including official application, curriculum vitae, introductory letter, and three (3) professional letters of recommendation

Internship compensation starts at $50,000 salary per year (consisting of a base salary of $45,000 plus a $5,000 housing stipend), with the possibility of becoming an associate veterinarian after six (6) months. Associate positions are not guaranteed and are based on performance and practice needs at that time. The benefits included in this internship opportunity are listed below:

• Professional dues and Licensing Fees, including AAEP, KVMA, KAEP, etc.
• Ten (10) days of PTO, to be taken during our slower months
• Shared and reasonable On-call schedule
• Percentage of Emergency Fees paid
• Use of a practice vehicle
• Use of a practice cell phone
