Animal Imaging is an outpatient imaging center in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. We offer high-quality diagnostic imaging services and interpretations for our referring veterinarians. At Animal Imaging, we strive to provide exceptional care and an empathetic experience for clients, patients and referring veterinarians, while providing the information needed to accurately make diagnoses and improve the quality of life in our companion animal and equine patients. We are leading the way in veterinary diagnostic imaging.
The Imaging Externship Program gives students exposure to multiple modalities of diagnostic imaging including MRI, CT, nuclear scintigraphy, ultrasonography, and radiography as well as equine anesthesia, sports medicine, and lameness diagnosis.
The externs are offered hands-on experience with our small animal and equine patients and doctors during their appointments. Externs will develop skills in veterinary radiology such as image acquisition, interpretation, anesthesia, and much more.
On-site housing is provided which includes a fully furnished apartment with a private bedroom, shared bathroom and kitchen area.
Externships are recommended in the spring, summer, and fall.
Externship opportunities are open to veterinary students with basic horse handling experience, proof of liability insurance, health insurance and a signed release form.
To apply for an externship, submit a letter of intent and resume on our website at https://animalimaging.net/imaging-externship-program. Externships are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis, can be booked year-round, and range in duration from a few days to a couple of weeks.
