Brown Equine Hospital is seeking a well qualified applicant for a one-year rotating hospital internship.  Brown Equine Hospital is a referral hospital with one boarded surgeon, one boarded internist, and highly skilled technical staff.  The caseload is varied and includes a variety of medical, surgical, lameness, and emergency cases in western and English performance horses, pleasure horses, Draft horses, and especially, Standardbred racehorses. This internship prepares veterinarians to move forward with their career in any aspect of equine veterinary practice, as demonstrated by previous interns obtaining residencies in equine surgery or dentistry or becoming successful general or sports medicine focused practitioners. Hands-on learning (including ample opportunities to “scrub in”), a busy caseload, and daily stall side case rounds allows the motivated intern to rapidly advance in all aspects of equine practice.

The hospital is currently staffed by one boarded surgeon and a doctor residency trained in equine internal medicine. Brown Equine Hospital has the necessary equipment for all soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries as well as digital radiography, endoscopy, and ultrasound.
