A traditional 3-year residency in equine sports medicine and rehabilitation is being offered by the Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University. The goal of the residency is to expose the individual to all facets of equine sports medicine and rehabilitation in order to qualify for board certification in the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. In addition to partaking in a strong clinical caseload, the resident will participate in clinical teaching of students, rounds and seminar presentation to peer groups, development of research projects and coursework leading to a Master’s degree in the Department of Clinical Sciences. The majority of the clinical training will be spent participating in the evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of performance horses in the Equine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Service at Colorado State University. The residency training program will begin mid-July in 2024 and last for 3 years in duration.

A 3-year residency in equine sports medicine and rehabilitation is being offered by the Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University. This unique opportunity will involve a partnership between Equine Sports Medicine LLC, a private practice based out of Pilot Point, Texas and Colorado State University. Two thirds of the clinical training will be spent out of state with the Equine Sports Medicine Practice with the remainder occurring at CSU. The didactic requirement of this program will occur mainly at Colorado State University.
