Seeking motivated, positive, career-minded and committed practitioner for ambulatory position in Hospital-based, 100% Equine Veterinary practice. The position provides abundant experience with high quality performance and pleasure horses, breeding work and general practice. Opportunities for race track work for the right individual exist. Clientele demands and affords top-quality care. The practice provides digital radiography and ultrasonography services, as well as video endoscopy/gastroscopy, arthroscopy and laparoscopy and laser surgery. On-site laboratory capabilities include hematology, serum chemistry, electrolytes, blood gas and lactate measurement, cytology and basic microbiology. Extra-corporeal Shockwave Therapy, Class IV regenerative laser and Class III therapy laser. Stem cell, PRP and IRAP systems in place and utilized regularly. We are a full service equine medical and surgical facility. Additional imaging modalities such as MRI, nuclear scintigraphy and robotic CT are available by referral in close proximity.
The practice is located in beautiful north-central New Jersey with abundant outdoor and equestrian activities. In addition, there is easy access to the recreational activities in the Poconos, Adirondacks. The cultural centers of New York City and Philadelphia are a short drive away.
The office and professional environment is warm and supportive with a full-time practice manager, pharmacy manager and office coordinator. There are 1.5 skilled technicians/veterinarian. Accurate, state-of-the-art, client-oriented, compassionate, ethical patient care is our focus, and mentoring and teaching is emphasized, with regular rounds and journal club and easy access to senior veterinarians in the practice.
Graduate DVM or VMD. New graduates and veterinarians who have completed equine internships are encouraged to apply, as are more experienced practitioners interested in top-quality practice in a great area to live. Training and mentoring in equine medicine, surgery, reproduction and diagnostic imaging are actively provided, but extensive horse experience and knowledge is required and expected. Knowledge and experience with Hunter/Jumper, Three-Day Eventing, Dressage and other Sport Horse concerns is preferred.
