Jacksonville Equine Associates is a 4 doctor, highly progressive ambulatory practice serving North Florida and Southern Georgia. One of our doctors will be moving in two months and we are looking for someone to join our large family-oriented practice. We put a great deal of emphasis on continuing education, training and work-life balance. This profession must remain fun for all of us to do this for the long haul, so we constantly focus on changes to make this happen. Our work week is Monday through Friday, and we are closed on the weekends. We have developed a more flexible scheduling approach and incorporated 4 day work weeks. Our on-call time is split equally between each doctor and limited to active clients only. When you’re off call we really want you to turn your phone off and go do something fun. We have 5 highly trained technicians and full-time office staff. You will have a tech with you every day to help with cases, drive or help with inputting records and billing and generally make the day fun. We make a point of having our techs back at the office by 5PM to clean, run labs and restock for the next day. Since the practice was started by a Boarded Internal Medicine specialist, we have virtually any diagnostic tool you could want along with training and consultations. You will have access to Video gastroscopy, 2 upper airway scopes, 2 digital radiograph units, multiple repro and soft tissue ultrasounds, 2 butterfly ultrasounds for colic assessments, 3 battery powered dental floats, 2 iStats and a new EPOC. We have full in-house labs as well as shockwave, lameness locator, PRP and Pro-stride capability.  We meet for “rounds” every Thursday morning to go over cases from the week in more detail and review imaging and labs. Land has been purchased and plans submitted for a new haul-in facility so we can decrease our driving time and have more cases come to us. We encourage and will support you as you pursue your individual career goals as well. We have one associate certified in Equine acupuncture and another who is certified in skeletal manipulation. We are looking for someone with the same heart and mindset that we have. Compassion for your patients, your clients, our profession and everyone you work with. We want someone who continues to be a scientist and is constantly striving to learn and improve themselves so they can achieve all their personal goals. Applicants should have a strong equine background, excellent communication skills and zero arrogance. Recent graduates will be considered. Patients range from high end show horses and western pleasure horses to backyards horses, ponies, donkeys and small ruminants. There is a very generous financial package which includes CE, paid licenses, association memberships, health insurance, IRA plan, signing bonus to help with relocation, a bonus of all emergency fees plus a fully equipped Ford Expedition.
