Coldwater Animal Clinic, St Marys Veterinary Clinic, and Fort Recovery Veterinary Center are a 5-doctor, 3-clinic veterinary medical group seeking an associate for our practice. Our St Marys and Fort Recovery clinics provide small animal services exclusively whereas our Coldwater clinic provides both small animal care and large animal ambulatory services. The applicant could choose to focus on small animal or mixed animal depending on preference. Full- or part-time interest also considered. Ownership potential for the right individual after a 2 year time period. We offer paid vacation time and holidays, paid health insurance, HSA, paid licensing fees, professional liability, and a continuing education stipend and paid time off to attend CE. Our doctors have significant experience, and we enjoy providing mentorship. New grads are encouraged to apply.
Small animal practice consists of routine preventive care and sick patient visits, elective and urgent surgical cases, dentistry, and some emergency care. We have registered veterinary technicians at each clinic to assist with patient care and appointments. Our clinics have Idexx blood machines, digital radiography, ultrasound, video otoscope, dental equipment, cool laser machines, and fully stocked surgical suites.
Our large animal caseload is primarily dairy and equine with some beef and small ruminant work as well. Dairy work consists of routine herd health management as well as individual sick cow evaluation and treatment. Other large animal calls are generally for preventive care or addressing illness or injury. The applicant is provided a company truck with fully stocked Bowie unit and portable ultrasound if applicable for large animal calls.
We are open to providing new services if an applicant's interest falls in an area where we do not currently have a strong presence.
Mercer County is located in West Central Ohio in one of the top agricultural regions of Ohio. We are an hour drive from Dayton and Fort Wayne, Indiana, and two hours from Columbus and Indianapolis. Grand Lake St Marys and Lake Loramie are just a short drive from our clinics if you enjoy fishing, hunting, and boating. There are numerous community events and local concerts through the area all summer long.
The applicant would need to have or be eligible to acquire Ohio and Indiana licenses for large animal work, Ohio licensure would be sufficient for a small animal exclusive position.
Emergency on call service is shared equally amongst all doctors, small animal ER care is provided to current clients until 10 PM weekdays and from 8AM-10PM on weekends, large animal ER service is provided to current clients at all times after hours.
