The Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University is seeking applicants for an Instructor in our Rural Veterinary Practice (RVP). The service vision is to develop competence and compassion through excellence in education, primary care and preventative medicine for our livestock and horse community. The ideal candidate is a veterinarian with at least 3 years of experience in diagnosing and treating large animal species in a field setting, and is also team-oriented and strongly values student education and client relationships. The mobile veterinary service capabilities include digital radiographs, ultrasound, endoscopy, shockwave, motorized dentistry and ProStride equipment. Clinical work is primarily on-farm but some cases (mostly outpatient) may be received at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). The VTH employs the largest team of board-certified veterinary specialists in Oregon; these clinicians are available for consultation, referral and collaborative care. Afterhours duty is shared among RVP clinicians.
Oregon State University is located in the center of the Willamette Valley, just over an hour from the Pacific Ocean and slightly further from the Cascade Mountains. State forest abuts campus at the edge of the city. Corvallis is consistently ranked on national “best college towns” lists. The surrounding area is known for its forests, waterfalls, covered bridges, wine grapes and fertile soil. Nearby Portland, Salem and Eugene offer more urban pleasures. The RVP rotation is always a favorite among students, and RVP clinicians play important roles in teaching the fundamentals of doctorhood and introducing future veterinarians to the realm of large animal practice. Please consider joining our team and making an impact on our staff, patients and the next generation of veterinarians.
For full consideration please apply by May 26th, 2023. Unless the positions are filled, we will continue to accept applications until June 9th, 2023. OSU is an AA/EOE/Vets/Disabled inclusive community. To review posting and apply for this position, go to https://jobs.oregonstate.edu/postings/137288 .
