Do you LOVE equine reproduction?! Are you ready to focus solely on, and advance, your reproductive skills? Are you ready to work alongside another full-time veterinarian to equally share caseload and have the support of a fun loving, hardworking, and dedicated team? Are you ready to move to beautiful Colorado and enjoy all four seasons on the front range of the Rocky Mountains and all they have to offer? If so, we are looking for you!
Vista Equine Colorado is seeking a full-time veterinarian to join our incredible team during breeding season. Vista Equine Colorado is a large, full service, commercial, high volume, equine breeding facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. Vista Equine Colorado has been, and continues to be, a leader in the equine reproduction industry for over thirty years. We handle all areas of equine reproduction. We specialize in embryo transfer, aspirations/OPU, assisted reproductive technologies, and the management of sub-fertile mares. We manage several hundred onsite and haul-in mares annually, in addition to our own recipient herd. We perform over 300 embryo transfers and an ever-growing number of aspirations per year. We also offer foaling services, neonatal care, yearling prep, and sales representation.
Our perfect candidate should be competent and efficient with rectal palpations and ultrasonography, artificial insemination with cooled and frozen semen, embryo flushes and transfers, recipient management, and ideally trans-vaginal-aspirations/OPU/ICSI. The ideal candidate should also possess a strong background and knowledge of equine reproduction and be hardworking, detail oriented, and a positive team player and leader.
However, if you truly love reproduction, don't mind a little hard work, and are willing to learn, we are willing and ready to welcome and train the right candidate with ANY experience level, including new graduates! The only requirement is candidates must have a DVM and be able to become licensed in Colorado by the 2023 breeding season.
The position is perfect for a veterinarian who doesn't mind a little hard work during the breeding season, but who would welcome the lighter load during the off season. Salary is based on experience. Help with moving expenses and possibly housing assistance could be available to the right candidate. Competitive benefits include paid vacation time, health and dental insurance, 401K plan, AAEP and AVMA dues paid, veterinary liability insurance paid, and registration and travel expenses paid for continuing education.
We're excited to meet you! Interested parties can call our office at 970-226-4747 and ask for Jake Dahl. Or you can reach us by emailing questions and a resume with references to: jakedahl757@gmail.com
