Full time equine or mixed animal veterinarian in central Indiana. Horse & Hound Veterinary Clinic is located on the SW side of Indianapolis, Indiana. Fast paced clinic with all the latest technology (digital radiographs, scopes, shockwave, ultrasound, laser and surgical laser). We have a set schedule so you get enjoy life. Doctors are scheduled for only 36 hours per week, hard stop to the day and a guaranteed day off. Each doctor has a technician with them and we have a dedicated equine CSR who handles the details, so you don't have to. We have a shared on call schedule rotation and we have entered a weekend emergency cooperative. This means that we are only on call one weekend per five weeks. The cooperative is a haul in only, so no emergency farm calls on the weekends, and we have a technician on call with us. We share a weekly rotation (2 doctors currently) for the week days only. We offer a very competitive salary with commission and a generous PTO, CE, IRA, DEA, Licensing, PLIT coverage, medical and guaranteed fun benefits package. Emergency call fee is 100% yours and you get commission on the rest of the call as well. We want to prove to you that being an equine veterinarian is sustainable! You can have work life balance, boundaries and enjoy your job! Dr. Blackwell believes that we don't want an equine doctor for a year, we want one for the next twenty years and she's trained her clients.
If you want to work in a progressive Equine/Small animal companion practice- this is your place. We have fun, we laugh, we fire bad clients, we don't take non-client emergencies. Dr. Angela Blackwell is the practice owner (DVM 99 from Purdue) and founder of the new cooperative. New grads are welcome and appreciated and mentorship is 24/7 available, if you want to learn, we want to teach you.
We have a registered veterinary nurse joining us this month to add to our team of very experienced horsewomen. We are currently an all female practice and have great flexibility with scheduling and ample vacation time. We are ideally located in a very fast growing area. Purdue is about 1.5 hours, Louisville is 2 hours and Lexington is about 3 hours away. Purdue's satellite clinic is 45 minutes away for surgical needs. They have a standing CT as well (amazing diagnostic aid). Wanna know more? Contact Dr. Blackwell
Must be a licensed DVM in the state of Indiana. New grads welcome. Must have horse experience and knowledge.
