The Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center (EMC) in Leesburg, Virginia, part of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, invites applications from qualified individuals for a full-time, calendar year non-tenure track position as Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Equine Sports Medicine and Lameness. Salary and faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.The duties of this position have an emphasis toward clinical service responsibilities in all aspects of equine sports medicine, lameness and imaging. The position will focus on hospital-based, referral-level clinical examinations of equine athletes with lameness or poor performance. Consultation with EMC specialists in medicine and surgery, as well as outside specialists, is encouraged and expected to optimize patient outcomes. The successful candidate will participate in veterinary student experiential learning and intern and resident clinical training. Opportunities for didactic teaching are available. Scholarly activity and participation in collaborative research corresponding to a non-tenure track faculty position will be expected.Applicants must be committed to excellent patient care, exceptional client service and strong referring veterinarian relationships. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and an enthusiasm for providing the highest standards of patient care. Participation in continuing education and outreach activities that promote the reputation of the EMC is expected.

Required Qualifications:
DVM or equivalent degree. Demonstrated clinical experience in lameness diagnosis and non-surgical treatment. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal interactions. Must be eligible for a Virginia faculty veterinary license by appointment start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
Clinical experience in advanced imaging (MRI, CT, nuclear imaging, etc.). Residency training or 5 years of clinical experience. Clinical experience in acupuncture, chiropractic and/or other related modalities. Experience in teaching. Demonstrated record of scholarly activity. Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiologists or certified by the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology.
