Strain Equine Services, LLC is a continually growing, busy 3 doctor practice located just outside of Kansas City; a 20 minute drive from downtown and 25 minutes from Kansas City International Airport (MCI). We have an excellent support staff allowing for each doctor to have an individual veterinary technician/assistant and a fully stocked ambulatory service vehicle. We are a family-oriented practice striving to provide the best possible equine medicine and surgery all while maintaining a strong work/life balance. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. We offer a 4 day work week, shared emergency/on call duties with 1 designated night per week and alternating weekends/holidays with 100% of the emergency fee paid straight through to you. Other benefits include: paid vacation/sick leave, annual CE allowance, AAEP and AVMA dues, Kansas and Missouri license fees, PLIT and license defense coverage, IRA contribution, cell phone, and a health insurance stipend. Salary will be based on experience and paid on a pro-sal compensation method.
We work on all disciplines and breeds throughout all stages of life. Offering routine/preventative care, emergency services, reproductive services and neonatal care, in-depth lameness examinations, prepurchase examinations, acupuncture and cold laser therapy, as well as extensive equine dentistry and complex extraction services.
Our hospital boasts 2 heated barns each with a large examination area and stocks, 5 overnight/hospitalization stalls, 4 outdoor paddocks, an air conditioned surgical suite with hoist, surgical table, and gas anesthesia, a 60 foot roundpen and concrete runway for lameness evaluations, 3 fully stocked ambulatory vehicles, a fully stocked in-house pharmacy, in-house laboratory with CBC, Chemistry, Fibrinogen, and SAA capabilities, 1m and 3m endoscopy equipment, 3 digital radiography units, 3 portable ultrasound machines, and a focused shockwave unit. We offer regenerative therapies including IRAP, PRP, RenoVo, and stem cells.
We are looking for an energetic, motivated, self-driven individual that wants to practice top notch equine medicine in a laid-back type atmosphere. Experienced, seasoned veterinarians or new graduates are welcome to apply as we are more than willing to offer mentorship as needed.
