A full-time Fellowship position will be available at Virginia Equine Imaging this Summer. We are a six-doctor equine veterinary practice located in beautiful Northern Virginia that specializes in lameness and diagnostic imaging of the horse. Our facility features state of the art equipment such as digital radiography, nuclear scintigraphy, and ultrasonography. We are also expecting to add CT in the coming months.
We are looking for a highly motivated Sports Medicine Imaging Fellow. Qualified applicants will have an outgoing personality, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills. Candidates must possess at least one year of postgraduate clinical experience.
VEI is a fast-paced environment so individuals must possess the ability to self-motivate, multi-task and handle direction professionally. We are a Monday-Friday practice with no emergency or on call hours.
The Imaging Fellow position will assist Dr. Allen and Senior Veterinarians in the daily operations of Virginia Equine Imaging by providing exceptional sports medicine veterinary care.
The Imaging Fellow will help in the development of a beta unit standing CT and communicate with the CT company and CSU for further development. This will include imaging, data tables, proper settings, troubleshooting, and reporting back any issues, etc.
Additional duties will include training/helping the incoming interns as to the day-to-day operations of the clinic, assisting in cases both under the guidance of Dr. Allen and the Senior Associates and in some select cases, as the primary veterinarian.
Some skills with intra-articular injections and diagnostic imaging are preferred. Advanced imaging education will be taught during the fellowship.
The Fellow will also be expected to assist in generation of papers from prospective or retrospective studies with VEI data as directed by Dr. Allen.
Closely work with Dr. Allen in preparation of talks and presentations.
Perform radiology clinical evaluations and assist with other imaging modalities in clinic and occasionally out clinic.
This is a one year position. Benefits provided include health insurance offerings, 10 vacation days, uniform allowance, etc.
Candidates must possess at least one year of postgraduate clinical experience.
