Mill Station Veterinary Service (millstationvetservice.com, aka MSVS) is a mixed large animal ambulatory practice based out of Dixon, California in the western Sacramento Valley, located halfway between the San Francisco Bay Area and the Sierra Nevada Mountains with easy access to I5 and Highway 80.
Dr. Jason Bravos (UC Davis SVM 2003) founded MSVS in 2008 after 4.5 years at a mixed large animal practice based in Elk Grove, CA. MSVS's ongoing mission is to provide boutique production medicine and consulting to large livestock operations, in addition to servicing the local community. The practice has tripled in size since the first few years in business, and we are welcoming associates to both grow the practice and provide lots of schedule flexibility.
MSVS services 5 medium-size dairies (preg checks 2-3 days a week, commencing 7 or 8am), 40 beef ranches, a large dressage stable, 5 sheep ranches, a goat dairy, 4H and FFA projects, and of course many smaller equine and livestock clients in a 3 county radius.
Typical days in practice begin on a dairy or beef ranch. We usually schedule equine and other calls in the afternoon, with the goal of completing our call list by 4 or 5pm. We take day-time emergencies as we are able, and we refer daytime and after-hours calls to UC Davis when we do not have the time to see them. On-call is every other weekend, and shared during the week. Every weekend you are not on call you will have a 3 day weekend (Friday-Sunday).

Beef/dairy - preg check (ultrasound and manual), bangs vaccines, heifer and bull breeding soundness exams, herd health consultation, field surgeries, Certificates of Veterinary Inspection (CVIs)
