Califon Animal Hospital is a well established practice in northwestern New Jersey. Ambulatory services are provided for equine and small ruminants. Our modern animal hospital provides care for companion animals. Our current staff consists of two veterinarian owners, an associate and seven staff members who enjoy providing quality medicine and support for our patients and their families.

Large animals comprise 50% of the practice. Our patients are 95% equine and the remainder is made up of small ruminants and camelids. A good working relationship with local equine hospitals provides options for referral.  Our small animal practice offers services for dogs and cats.

We are seeking an experienced equine veterinarian who would be willing to treat some small ruminants. Our practice is well equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound,laser, and dental power float for ambulatory patient care. A vehicle with portavet is provided.

Weekly schedule would include shared on call for large animals and one week day off.

Compensation structure is a set salary with additional benefits including various dues and insurance as well as 401K.

Califon is a rural community located in affluent Hunterdon County New Jersey. There is ample opportunity for recreation, horseback riding, hiking and biking and other pursuits. We are located 1 hour form New York City and 1 1/2hrs from Philadelphia
