The practice is approximately 60% cattle, 30% equine, and 10% small ruminants and porcine. We are well equipped including digital radiography, multiple ultrasounds, state-of-the-art equipment for fertility testing, power dentistry, hydraulic chute, padded knock-down room for surgeries, and much more.
We are looking for someone with a good work ethic, and a great ability to communicate. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the cattle industry or willing to learn, as our practice provides service to the local stockyards as well as many purebred and commercial beef cattle operations.
Veterinary work includes routine health, pregnancy palpation, sick animal work, dystocias, DAs, herd management, breeding soundness exams, equine lameness, and dentistry. Emergency coverage is shared on rotation between doctors. A fully equipped vet truck for farm/ranch calls is provided as well as a technician to assist with appointments.
New graduates are welcome to apply and would have some mentorship from current vets. Our doctors are encouraged to develop their own special interests. We currently have doctors trained in Pulmonary Arterial Pressure Testing for High Mountain Disease in cattle and are one of only 2 practices in the state that offer this service.
Position requires a Montana veterinary license or ability to obtain one and Category II USDA accreditation. Salary is competitive with other practices in the area with a pro-sal based compensation. Specifics discussed based on experience. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance stipend, paid state licensure and professional dues, liability Insurance, 401K plus profit sharing, CE allowance, emergency bonus pay, employer-provided cell phone.
