Full-time equine associate veterinarian

We are a 3.5 doctor practice in Central Iowa providing high quality first opinion care including sports medicine, dentistry, reproduction, general medicine, emergency and wellness care.  We love our work, we are excited about our practice, and we are looking for someone who wants to bring their own intrepid spirit to join group.  We have a need for a general practitioner with a strong interest in reproduction or sports medicine or for the real go getter reading this, both!  We have a wonderful support staff who assist in the clinic and in the field.  Our work week is M-F 8am-5pm with a half-day off each week and on call is shared equally among veterinarians.  During the winter months we close on Fridays and enjoy 3-day weekends.  As owners we both began as solo practitioners, we are well acquainted with what working too much looks and feels like, and are committed to improving on that model.

Our practice culture is a mix of hard work, humility, and humor and finding the right fit is of paramount importance to us.  We value a team approach to handling cases as we feel strongly that this is to the benefit of our veterinarians and our patients.  We embrace challenges and we pursue opportunities.  If you have always wanted to pursue additional training in an area, we are here for it and will support and invest in you.  Our clients are genuinely great.  We feel privileged to enjoy a Midwest pace and still get the opportunity to practice high quality medicine on nice horses for nice people.

Starting base salary is commensurate with experience and includes 20% production with no negative accrual.  Benefits include CE stipend, professional liability, AAEP and state VMA dues of your choosing, licensing fees, $5000 student loan reimbursement, SIMPLE IRA retirement benefits, and 10 days PTO.
