This 11-year-old large animal ambulatory practice is based in Longview, TX and services horses, cows, small ruminants and exotics.  

Texas's most beautiful and economically thriving area is home to a high density of hobby farms, large ranches, sport and back yard horses.  We have even built a large clientele of Whitetail Deer and hunting ranches and as homesteading has become a trend, small ruminants have been increasing in numbers. The clients in East Texas are the salt of the earth, generous and grateful.  

The practice was started by Clint Owens in 2011 as Owens Mobile Veterinary Services.  In 2020, Dr. Owens bought a small animal clinic, C4 Veterinary Hospital, and hired Dr. Tim Turner for the ambulatory practice.  The name was changed to The Outdoor Vet and has continued to thrive.  Dr. Turner is relocating to be with his wife out of state and the small animal clinic has grown so that Dr. Owens has no opportunity to make farm calls and continue taking care of the large animal clients who have relied on him and Dr. Turner for so many years.

There is such a large number of horses and cattle in the area that the mixed animal practices and other ambulatory practitioners are not able to meet all the needs.  We all have a great relationship and work well together making sure we get as many animals taken care of as possible.
