Mission Equine Hospital is currently seeking a full or part time (we are flexible)  associate veterinarian who is looking to join our equine ambulatory practice that values quality patient care in addition to great work/life balance in San Juan Capistrano, California.

We are seeking an associate with strong communication skills and a dedication to continued learning and willingness to participate in practice development. We encourage our associates to distinguish themselves and expand the practice by developing expertise in areas of specific interests. Therefore, a collaborative environment is of upmost importance to our veterinarians and staff.

While we are primarily an ambulatory practice, uniquely we operate out of a 4-stall hospital with a treatment facility capable of minor elective procedures. We offer comprehensive care to 90+% equine patients ranging from backyard pets to elite athletes with occasional small ruminant cases as well. Our practice is equipped with an in-house ProCyte hematology and Catalyst Dx chemistry analyzer, multiple SAA readers, digital radiography NEXT, ultrasounds LOGIQe, video endoscopy and gastroscopy. Advanced supportive treatments like IRAP, PRP, Pro stride, ESWT, PMEF and class 4 regenerative laser. Our client’s horse population varies from different training disciplines; mainly hunter/jumpers, with some western, dressage, eventing and back yard pleasure pets.  

We provide a fully equipped truck vehicle in addition to other generous benefits. Salary commensurate with experience and production. Compensation varies from base salary to salary plus commission.  Our on-call weekday and weekend schedule is shared and rotated with our veterinarians and another local ambulatory practice, which consists of 2 weekdays and 1 weekend every 4 to 6 weekends.

As for the location, San Juan Capistrano is a quaint city located south of Orange County and just minutes to the beach, hiking/riding trails, fine dining, wineries, and an equestrian sports park. Generally, the weather is sunny, mild, and great for outdoor activities.

Applicants must have a DVM or VMD with eligibility to obtain a California license.
