Veterinary Interns needed for large equine referral hospital:
Hospital – June 1 for 13 months: Rotations through Medicine, Surgery, and Sports Medicine specialty services, assisting in case management and procedures; emergency call and overnight on a shared, rotating basis.
Ambulatory – July 1 for 12 months: Spends approx. six weeks on rotation with senior ambulatory clinicians for intro. and mentorship period; the candidate is then expected to practice independently (with the guidance of our established veterinarians), and will be set up with their own vehicle, equipment, supplies, etc.
Reproduction- July 1 for 12 months: Candidate will practice at the Equine Reproduction Center located in Summerfield, FL (about 26 miles from main hospital). They will work together with Dr. Phil Matthews, head of the center, in all aspects of equine reproduction.
DVM (or equivalent), proficiency in basic clinical skills, and eligibility for licensure in Florida are required.
