TD Equine Veterinary Group (http://tdequinevet.com) offers an ambulatory based position with a focus on performance horse health and complete care of the equine athlete. The practice is located just south of Calgary, Alberta and is closely involved with international horse venues including Spruce Meadows, Rocky Mountain Show Jumping and the Calgary Polo Club (https://sprucemeadows.com/tournament_index.jsp; http://rmsj.ca; http://www.calgarypoloclub.com).
Our practice will provide exposure to a variety of athletic disciplines including western performance, hunter/jumper, polo, and dressage horses. We have veterinarians on staff that are board certified in surgery and sports medicine/rehabilitation. Our internship strives to provide dedicated mentoring and graduated independence through case exposure that includes lameness diagnostics, treatments, rehabilitation programs, dentistry, preventative health care, pre-purchase examinations, emergency medicine and a smaller component of theriogenology.
We are a team that enjoys working and socializing together, continually fostering a healthy work life balance and encouraging our interns to enjoy the recreational opportunities Alberta has to offer. On call schedule will consist of 2 weekdays per week and 2 weekends per month.
The practice is part of the distributed veterinary learning community (DVLC) of the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (http://www.vet.ucalgary.ca). TD Equine is a part of the UCVM Equine Internship program. (https://vet.ucalgary.ca/services/advanced-clinical-training) Board certified veterinary specialists within that veterinary school program are accessible and participate in our practice.
Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited College of Veterinary Medicine and passed the NAVLE, able to be licensed by Alberta Veterinary Medical Association
