Crown 3 Equine is looking for a very specific individual to join our team for Breeding Season 2022!
We are a busy, growing general practice set up in a non-traditional way. Our focus is on equine reproduction and general health, prioritizing the individual horse and horse owner. The right individual will have drive, general horsemanship skills, and a desire to learn about general practice, mare, foal, and stallion management, and leveraging technology in modern veterinary practice.
The focus of the internship will be on learning and practicing general practice and equine reproductive skills and techniques. Crown 3 Equine does not have a boarded surgeon or surgical facility.
Crown 3 Equine is a tight-knit team that focuses on employee health, teamwork, and maximal utilization of technicians and lay staff for increased efficiency in practice. During our busy breeding season, you will work hard, including overnight shifts and foaling care. The workload is spread across the entire team, including the practice owner, to allow for adequate rest as much as possible. Housing is provided.
A DVM degree and license to practice in Texas is preferred, but not mandatory. Any individual who fits the general criteria and is enrolled in an accredited veterinary medical degree program will be considered. Lay professionals who have no intention of pursuing a DVM will not be considered.
Equine practice work is physically demanding by nature. This internship requires working with mares, foals, and stallions as well as general practice expectation. Applicants will be able to work around and with horses of all sizes, including drafts and racehorses. Interested individuals will be able to meet the physical requirements of daily equine practice.
A valid driver's license is preferred but not required. Applicants must not be facing criminal charges or board prosecution in any state or country.
