The practice's primary focus is ambulatory orthopedic work in the sport horse industry. It is supported by our administrative staff, licensed RVT’s, and clinic services that include several advanced imaging modalities including nuclear scintigraphy and MRI, in patient care and internal medicine, and elective surgery. We frequently collaborate with our local and national network of specialists. Additionally, our practice has associate veterinarians who are certified in chiropractic, acupuncture and advanced dentistry.
Our primary offices are located in San Marcos, California. Our service areas include Northern San Diego County, southern Orange County and Riverside County year-round and the Palm Desert/Indio area seasonally (October-April). Duties arise from ambulatory calls and clinic appointments seen on both scheduled and emergency basis. We serve as horse show vets for many USEF and FEI competitions.
We are seeking a single intern to join our practice for one year, our interns work a 6-day work week and are expected to cover emergency on call supported by the associate veterinarian on call. Traditional benefits include on-site housing, professional memberships, health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), CE allowance, PTO, and more. Equipment includes (but not limited to) digital radiography, portable ultrasound, and 1M endoscope. We regularly utilize technologies such as ProStride, IRAP, 3.5M endoscope, class 4 regenerative laser, FES, shockwave, and more.
We strive to create competent, confident, self-sufficient and knowledgeable veterinarians through our internship process. The amount of direct supervision will vary based on growth and proficiency. Mentorship will be provided throughout the year from all of our staff veterinarians, our collaborative approach brings a versatile pool of knowledge. Previous interns have gone on to complete residencies or continue their employment as associate veterinarians in the practice.
Valid driver’s license, and California DVM license required. USDA accreditation strongly encouraged.
