We have an opening for a mixed animal practitioner. Our practice is about 40% dairy, 20% beef, 35% small animal, and 5% small ruminant, equine, and cervid. One of the partners will be semi-retiring in 2022. Our dairy clients range in size from 50 to 1000. Duties vary from herd checks to sick calls to implanting frozen embryos to processing CWD samples to small animal visits. The position can be largely small animal if desired by new hire but after hours on-call will include all species. We rotate on-call schedule. We can provide a truck or reimburse at the IRS tax schedule rate. We offer a retirement package. Liability insurance is provided. Compensation is negotiable based on skill level and work schedule.
We have in house lab, digital x-ray, and large animal haul in facilities. Our staff includes 3 graduate vet techs, 4 receptionists, 3 assistants, and kennel help. There are currently 2 small animal vets, 2 mixed, and 1 mostly large animal vet.
Southwest Vet operates out of offices in Prairie du Chien, Bloomington, and Seneca, Wisconsin. We provide boarding and grooming services at the Prairie du Chien clinic. The area is small town scenic with the Mississippi River as a recreational draw. There would be a definite partnership opportunity for the right individual.
