Full time, associate position available in our equine practice, starting late fall/winter 2021/2022.
Georgian Bay Equine Veterinary Services is a growing 3 vet practice located 2 hours north of Toronto, in the beautiful Blue Mountains/Collingwood/Georgian Bay region of Ontario. The practice provides services primarily to sport horses across several disciplines including Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, Eventing, Western Performance as well as pleasure horses. Current staff consists of 3 full time equine vets, 3 veterinary technicians, office manager and clinic assistant.
Our practice is predominantly ambulatory, with a small clinic/ haul-in facility and office, with plans to expand the facility and haul-in part of the practice. Our practice consists of general and preventative medicine, sport horse medicine, reproduction, dentistry, alternative and emergency medicine. We have 2 new digital radiography units ( < 5 years old), several digital ultrasounds, 1 and 3 m endoscopy, shockwave, ProStride and a Class IV portable Laser.

The ideal candidate would have completed an internship or have equine practice experience with good mentorship, however motivated new graduates with equine experience will be considered. Experience in lameness, reproduction, dentistry and general preventative and emergency medicine is ideal. Chiropractic training would also be an asset. This position should generate a moderately full caseload for the successful candidate, but could be part-time if desired.
Emergency call is roughly 1 in 3, shared between practice members. Fully stocked practice vehicle included and equipment provided, provincial licensing dues paid, membership in AAEP, professional liability insurance, cell phone and generous CE opportunities provided.
