Progressive fast-paced and rapidly growing equine practice in Central Texas is seeking the right veterinarian for our team! The practice is over 85% equine with the rest being a mix of food animal and camelid. This well-established practice is owned by a Diplomate of the ACVIM, has 2 technicians, an office manager, and 2 barn staff. The practice is primarily ambulatory with a 4 stall clinic that includes an arena and round pen for lameness and food animal pens and chutes.
The focus of the practice is internal medicine, advanced dentistry, preventive care, lameness and sports medicine, field surgeries, and obstetrics. A new associate will be highly encouraged to bring their interests to the practice. A fully equipped mobile practice vehicle will be provided. The practice has digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, power dentistry, mobile horse stocks, and in-house laboratory
Both experienced and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Mentorship is readily available for a new graduate. Ourwork philosophy is not to burn out, but to build up. There is a generous salary, benefit, and CE package along with buy-in potential after 1 year with the practice. Just out of an internship and tired of 80 hour work weeks? Afraid of getting out of school and being thrown to the wolves? Those are all too common occurrences in equine medicine, but not in our practice. It is our goal that the work week should only be 40 hours for routine calls and all after hours is shared evenly. Everyone needs 2 weeks of paid leave that does not include going to a veterinary conference. Proper on-boarding and mentorship is key in our practice to make you, us, and, ultimately, our clients (and their horses) happy.
Our suburban/rural location has everything you would be looking for in a new home. is 30 minutes to downtown Austin, Killeen/Fort Hood, and the Texas Highland Lakes, 20 minutes to the suburban city of Georgetown with ample shopping, and 15 minutes to the historic “Old West” towns of Burnet and Lampasas. Our local public school system is outstanding, and six major universities are within 1 ½ hours of our clinic. There are also six Texas State Parks within a 1 hour drive not to mention the many events held in Austin and Killeen. For equestrians, opportunities to show any discipline happen almost every weekend within an hours drive. This is truly the place where the Old West meets the Big City, where outdoor recreation meets shopping and fine dining.
