Fredericksburg Equine is looking for a special individual to join our family in the best little town in Texas. Our practice is focused on providing exceptional veterinary care to horses and a limited number of small animal patients (mostly our horse clients' pets) while working towards work:life balance, professional/personal fulfillment and reaching our full individual and team potential. The practice is owned by Dr. Rob Franklin, AAEP Vice President and current Wellness Committee chairman, founder and past president of the Texas Equine Veterinary Association, past board member of Florida Association of Equine Practitioners and recognized internal medicine specialist, and Dr. Matt Moskosky, the world's most likable veterinarian.
Our facility features a beautiful reception area, equine exam area, 14 stalls, 2 isolation stalls, reproduction center, 2 small animal exam rooms, small animal surgery, isolation and treatment areas. Diagnostics include the latest computed radiography equipment, GE ultrasound, 1 & 3 meter videoscopes, in-house CBC/Chemistry/Lactate/SAA, in-house Coggins Lab and Shockwave Therapy. The caseload consists of pleasure and performance horses from a variety of breeds and disciplines.
The position is 4 days per week from September through January and 4.5 days per week February-August. The clinic is open Monday through Friday.
Dr. Moskosky, a 2009 Texas A&M graduate, has a special interest in reproduction, surgery and dentistry. Dr. Franklin, a 1999 Texas A&M graduate and ACVIM diplomate, provides sports medicine, internal medicine and integrated medicine exams. Both clinicians enjoy mentoring recent graduates in veterinary practice and in supporting their personal growth. This is a faith-based practice and one that operates on servant leadership and philanthropy. Dr. Matt and Dr. Franklin participate in FullBucket international veterinary volunteer trips each year and will encourage their associate veterinarians to join them in their efforts to Be Good and Do Good. We also support professional growth through exceptional continuing education access and encouragement to join and serve professional organizations- TEVA & AAEP.
Nestled deep in the heart of the Lone Star State, the town of Fredericksburg was settled by German pioneers in 1846 and remains as steadfastly Teutonic as it is Texan. Its 3.5-mile historic Hauptstrasse (Main Street) is a smorgasbord of specialty shops, biergartens, and bed-and-breakfasts. The gently undulating countryside is awash in wildflowers in the spring and offers plentiful peaches in the summer along its wine trail of more than 40 wineries, breweries and distilleries.
