Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine (PVM) is seeking a second equine staff surgeon for the Purdue University Centaur Equine Specialty Hospital (CESH) in Shelbyville, Indiana. The Centaur Equine Specialty Hospital is operated by PVM as an independent facility that models private practice, while collaborating with faculty at PVM for optimum patient care in many areas of specialty practice. The hospital is a regional diagnostic and surgical facility located near Indiana’s 2 horse racing facilities. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and surgical facilities, and functions as an integral part of the PVM mission to serve the equine industry. The upcoming installation of the first Qalibra CT system in the US will create one of the leading imaging and surgical facilities in the Midwest. CESH is operated as an independent start-up business with the clear quest to function financially self-sufficient whilst being an integral part of the PVM mission. The successful applicant will be responsible for the majority of the emergency duty rotations.
