Rapidly growing, progressive ambulatory practice in southern New Jersey seeking associate equine veterinarian to join us in Spring or Summer 2021. We pride ourselves on providing high quality medicine with an emphasis on client education. We see everything from high level sport horses to backyard companions and 4-H horses, as well as enough small ruminants to keep life interesting. We have cultivated a friendly and respectful clientele who make our jobs fun (for real!). Assistants help us on the road for efficiency, safety, and company. Our office staff handles scheduling and fielding client questions. Associate will have 4 day workweek majority of the year, 5 day workweek during peak season (Apr-Jun). On-call shared an even 50/50; In the past 12 months we averaged only 1.5 after hours emergencies per week (that is any unscheduled call outside of M-F 8-6) and when you are off, your phone should be off! Friendly local colleagues allow for additional flexibility in scheduling.
Our ideal candidate loves working with horses and their people, but equally values having a full and balanced life with time for other interests. Although internship training would be ideal, it is really your confidence, openness to learning, and ability to communicate in a way that builds trust and connections with clients that matters the most. Our preventative care-based practice offers a full range of services with a diverse caseload and there is room to grow in your area of interest!
Benefits include licenses/dues, CE stipend, liability insurance, health insurance, 12 week maternity leave. Fully stocked practice vehicle and cell phone. Practice has cloud based software so patient records are always accessible, digital radiography, ultrasound, power dentistry, upper airway videoendoscopy. Salary is commensurate with experience and emergency fees provide additional compensation.
Practice is situated 45 miles south of downtown Philadelphia. Southern New Jersey is peppered with waterways and lakes for kayaking/canoeing, state parks for light hiking, and wineries/breweries. All within easy access to the city or less than an hour to the beach!
