Sydney’s largest equine veterinary practice is currently accepting applications for an experienced Equine Associate Veterinarian, with a focus on sport horse practice.
The position will involve predominantly sports horse ambulatory and hospital-based work and will also include some racetrack and pleasure horse work. The caseload includes a large number of high-level dressage, eventing and show jumping clients and therefore the work has a strong lameness and diagnostic imaging bias. The successful applicant will join an established team of experience equine veterinarians and specialists, operating from a new state of the art equine hospital which will include nuclear medicine and standing CT facilities. The REC team of veterinarians includes specialists in the fields of sports medicine, surgery, internal medicine and anaesthesia.
The successful applicant will have access to excellent portable equipment including digital radiography, video-endoscopy and ultrasonography units. Additional diagnostic and therapeutic aids available include overground video-endoscopy, lameness locator, regenerative medicine therapeutics, Class IV K-laser and shockwave.
A minimum of 5 years equine practice experience is required. Applicants should have experience in sport horse practice and have keen interest in sports medicine and rehabilitation with an ambition to further their professional development. Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation status is preferred but not essential. Accreditation or interest in the FEI would also be preferable as we cover the veterinary work at a number of large, international dressage and eventing competitions.
Remuneration package will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience and will include a fully maintained motor vehicle, mobile phone, 4 weeks annual leave, 1 weeks study leave, percentage of afterhours fees and potential for incentive schemes.
