Woodside Equine Clinic would like to hire another surgeon to join their current team of surgeons. The surgery team enjoys a varied caseload including elective and emergency surgeries, sports medicine, both medical and surgical colics. The predominant number of cases are seen within the clinic but the surgeons are also able to see ambulatory cases. Afterhours emergencies are received by the surgeons assisted by interns with technicians and assistants available if needed. The surgeons collaborate and consult with Woodside and referring veterinarians.
The primary responsibilities of this position include overseeing both a surgical and medical caseload, growing a sports medicine caseload, promoting strong communication skills and relationship building with referring veterinarians, and contributing to a collaborative team environment. Woodside hosts regular continuing education programs through VETPD. There are opportunities for the surgeons to contribute to these programs as well as other educational endeavors. The on call schedule will be split among the 3 surgeons.
Woodside Equine Clinic is an ambulatory and hospital-based practice located near Richmond, VA and also has a satellite facility 40 miles north. We currently employ 10 veterinarians including 2 interns, a strong team of technicians, dedicated ambulatory assistants and a great staff.
Currently on the veterinary team are 3 surgeons, a theriogenologist, a board eligible dentist and several doctors oriented toward sports medicine with backgrounds in ISELP, chiropractic and acupuncture. Woodside Equine Clinic strives to have a great working environment and encourages the veterinarians and staff to pursue their areas of interest.
Our facilities include a hospital with 17 stalls, a temperature controlled isolation unit, a breeding facility and 2 rings for lameness evaluation.
Our case load is predominately English sport horse. Many of our clients show hunters but there are dressage, jumpers, trail and many other disciplines in the area. We see many warm bloods along with thoroughbreds, ponies and may other breeds.
