Enjoy your internship at our progressive equine practice, in a well balanced environment. West Wind Veterinary Hospital allows for hands on experience, growing at the rate that suits you best. Develop your independence in a great group setting. We are everything you are looking for as you bridge your transition to private practice.
Our clinic sees equine appointments Monday-Friday and provides 24-hour emergency coverage. The intern will accompany our veterinarians during daytime appointments and after-hours emergencies. The intern will also assist with care of hospitalized cases. Once comfortable, the intern can begin taking primary on-call responsibilities with a senior veterinarian available as backup.
Various ambulatory and in-clinic cases are seen daily on a diverse mix of English and Western equine disciplines, including lameness examination, wellness, dentistry, internal medicine examinations, herd health, and reproductive work for both mares and stallions.
We offer a competitive intern salary, on site housing, use of clinic vehicles for emergency duties, paid AbVMA license and AAEP dues, generous CE allowance, 5 vacation days, clothing allowance, medical and dental benefits through Sunlife insurance and an accommodating work schedule. Also, we happen to be a great group of people to work with!
