Tennessee Equine Hospital's Internship Program is a compensated, one year internship beginning in June of each year and extending to June the following year. The purpose of this internship is to expose the interns to all aspects of equine practice.
Tennessee Equine Hospital is located in Thompson's Station, TN about 30 minutes south of Nashville, TN. Our practice consists of 8 full time veterinarians at our main facility. Our facility in Thompson's Station is equipped with 22 stalls, four outpatient exam areas, a lameness center, a diagnostic imaging suite with Nuclear Scintigraphy and MRI, and both sterile and non-sterile surgical suite. We also have a Reproduction Center equipped to manage reproductive cases, collect stallions for processing fresh, cooled/shipped, and frozen semen, and process embryo collection and transfer.
The interns will rotate weekly between medicine, surgery, outpatient care, and ambulatory service. Our interns will be expected to provide support and daily assessment of hospital and reproductive center cases and support with ambulatory cases. As the intern becomes more comfortable with procedures and practice, more independent practice will be required.
