Our hospital is fully equipped with surgical and medical procedures and MRI. The hospital is located in a beautiful area of southern California close to beaches and hiking. We have a full technical staff with 2 RVTs to manage most patient treatments and assist training interns for anesthesia. Our staff is friendly and we all work together as a team to provide excellent patient management and care. We welcome the interns as veterinarians, colleagues and new sources of new information. Our interns participate in daily exams, procedures, surgeries and emergencies. As our interns gain confidence, they will do ranch calls and emergencies independently. We strive for our interns to develop strong procedural skills and evaluations in all areas of equine medicine, surgery and sports medicine. We are busy with colic and elective surgeries, sports medicine evaluation with MRI on site, an active internal medicine and reproduction case load. The interns are guaranteed to solidify their diagnostic and therapeutic plans, and gain confidence in case management. We also encourage them to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients, to stimulate an interest in pursuing a rewarding career in equine veterinary medicine, to practice effective teamwork with colleagues, technical and clerical staff, to understand the business aspect of veterinary medicine and to learn to balance the demands of their career with their personal life. Weekly radiology and journal club rounds also provide an academic aspect that is very valuable in learning and case research/management. See our Facebook page, Instagram or website and contact us for more information.
