Internship Philosophy: To provide mentorship balanced with responsibility, and offer opportunities for special focus. By the end of the internship year, doctors will have deepened their diagnostic, surgical, and technical skills, as well as their understanding of equine medicine. We hope our interns will leave having experience in a busy general practice as well as specialty training by our board-certified specialists ( DACVS, DACVIM, DABVP, DACVSMR).
Internship Duties: Assist with in-house and ambulatory cases; surgery; evening and weekend treatments and on call emergency duties; weekend anesthesia duties. Help manage the medical care of critical patients, facilitate day-to-day operations of the clinic, and help our staff with daily appointments
Additional Information: The first two weeks are spent In-House/On Call for emergencies to become familiar with clinic, software, protocols, etc. Interns will then begin a two week rotation as follows: 1) Primary/In-House Intern 2) Secondary/Field Intern. The primary intern will have on call and overnight duties during the week and weekend, with the out intern supporting them as needed. Each intern will have one weekend of anesthesia per month.

Two week externship, three letters of recommendation, current resume, letter of intent (one page), and ID Photo. Some applicants send college transcripts.
