The Park Equine Hospital Internship Program provides the opportunity for doctors to gain practical skills and expand their knowledge in surgery, anesthesiology, internal medicine, ambulatory field care, breeding soundness and reproduction, lameness evaluation, and diagnostic imaging. Interns will work closely with our ACVIM and ACVS Board-Certified Specialists and will learn to manage hospitalized critical care patients, ambulatory emergencies, and assist in surgery. Applicants from both foreign and American colleges of veterinary medicine are welcome to apply. Foreign national applicants must be proficient in both spoken and written English. Intern candidates must be licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The internship program at Park Equine Hospital is designed to provide a learning environment in which first year veterinarians complete three rotations: medicine, surgery, and ambulatory. Interns will have the opportunity to cycle through the rotations during peak seasons.
An Externship or Shadowing experience at Park Equine Hospital is required.
? Completion in good standing of a DVM or VMD degree at an AVMA accredited university.
? A passing score on the NAVLE
? A veterinary license and USDA accreditation to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
? All required examinations must be completed prior to the start of the internship.
